Power Tilt/Trim Compatible between these 40's??

I have a 1989 40 horse Johnson(tracker). Model TJ40ELCEC. It has a lift assist system that I am hoping to switch to power tilt and trim. I'm looking at buying a 1987 Johnson project motor. Model J40TLCUD. This motor has power tilt/trim, but the unit looks markedly different than the unit shown for my motor on the Johnson/Evinrude parts website. Will this unit work on my motor??

looks like 87 is the 3 wire system, 89 is the 2 wire system.
