Hi
I have a problem with a power steering oil leak on my Mercriuser 5.7 Bravo 3 there is no oil in the bilge but when the boat is stationary you can see a film of oil around the the sterndrive in the water, I have heard that the oil cooler can sometimes leak and the oil can come out through the exhaust, am I thinking along the right lines or could the leak be coming from somewhere else, I would appreciate any help.
Cheers Paul.

The PS cooler is a common place, actually about the only place for oil to get outside the boat.
Remove it from the boat, and drain the oil out of it. Pressurize one of the small tubes with air and plug the other. Then put it in a bucket of water, if you see bubbles, you have a leaky cooler.
