The other day I ran my Marnier 200 for about 20 minutes @ 3200 rpms. Out of nowhere she died, sounded like fuel loss. Tried to start again, turned once and sounded like the cylinoid disengaged. Tried this several times...no joy. Gave it a bit of gas...started right up. Slowly backed off the throttle...rpm's dropped to below 500 and died again. She usually idles around 1000. After about 5 minutes she started w/ no throttle...rough at that...and was able to get under power. Ran about 1800 rpms back to the dock...didn't want to push it. I've read quite a few suggestions here, seems a bit over whelming. Gonna look at fuel vent and purge. I don't feel confident enough to tamper w/ the fuel system, lookin for a few easy trouble shooting ideas or at least something to take to the mechanic. Sorry for the length and thanks to you that post. Can't wait to get back out fishin'.

Howdy G8r! Welcome to iboats.

Check any and all fuel filters. Also, do you have a fuel water seperator? Might have a lot of water in it.

I am by no means an expert here, kind of a backyard hacker, to borrow someone else's terminology. I am merely guessing at your problem from similar experiences. There are some really good wrenchers here, hopefully one of them will be hopping along any second.....In the meantime, do you have a manual for the motor?

Thanks for your reply sanger. To answer you, yes I have the manual, it's about 3 inches thick. Makin my way through it as we speek...not the best bed time reading. I do have a new water seperator on it, pulled it off and she looks good. Goin to stick my head under the cover a bit more. Thanks again.

You might also want to pull all of the plugs, and note their position. See what they look like. Might give you a clue as to what or where the problem is.

Check the spark on all the cylinders... Very easy test... This will give us some info on the electrical workings or lack there of....

And sangerwaker's suggestion on the plugs is a very good one. Note all of the appearances by cylinder number and let us know...
