power head exchange

i have a 1983 evinrude 150 crossflow i may have damaged poer head
have run across 175 1980s was wanting to know if the power heads will exchange .also what others will . i can get this motor dirt chep but will have to run com and check out it has been sitting for a long time but it has a lower unit with low water pickup and some after market heads so worst case
i will sell for parts and keep some parts.i can get complete motor for 400
if someone is looking for lower for cross flow 175 with low water pickup

Benny, what year 175. SOme have the bubble back exhaust that is like a header on your car. They will not work on your 150.

Unless you have an XP. Then the power head should be a drop on.

A 150 XP / GT still has the flat exhaust plates just like the standard 150 crossflow.
