Potential Project I/O to O/B Conversion and Mod of top for Bowrider

Hello Everyone!

I am new to this forum and I have some questions regarding a full-out resto and mod of an old cast away I happened across.

First, the boat is completely stripped, so it is basically a hull. I see it as a clean slate to transform it into a great boat. I am located in Greece, so this is why I am considering an I/O to O/B conversion. Over here these Mercruiser engines are rare and they come at a premium. Also, they are very expensive to have repaired, as there are not many certified machine shops, etc., to repair the engines. And, parts are a bit difficult to come across.

Second, I have a large family, so I wanted to convert the closed bow to a bowrider. I think this will also help me offset some potential weight and balance issues due to the engine changes.

Next, I'm not considering touching the project until I sort out some title and registration issues. The boat was abandoned, therefore, I have to ensure I can register before beginning the project.

Any ideas as to the make and model?

Your pix didn't attach. Hope the title & reg paperwork goes smooth in Greece. It's a total mixed bag in the states. Some are too easy to even explain it, others boats are difficult, trailers are easy, some are the reverse.... WV boats are fairly easy, no matter the length, trailers are more difficult.

Good luck, there are a few I/O to OB conversion threads, Capt Kickback is 1 you already know.

Welcome to iboats & when you get ownership & can take possession, post some pix...
