Re: Posting pictures

Magster65, I hope this helps. I posted this sometime back for someone else. You’ll have to find a web site that can host pictures. www.fishingworks.com is free and easy to use.

It’s easy to post a pic.

1. Go to fishingworks.com where you have your pictures stored and log on.
2. Find the picture you want and click on it so it enlarges.
3. Once the picture is up do a right click on it and go down to Properties.
4. Click on Properties and a General tab will show up.
5. In the middle of that General tab you will see a title that says Address and you will see something like this after it: http://www.fishingworks.com/Users/UserFolders/combee/PhotoImages/Tboat3.jpg

6. Highlight this address right click and copy it.
7. I usually go to word and paste it so I don’t lose it, but you can go straight to the forum and paste it in a reply post or new post if you like.
8. Put a
b] before the address and a [b]
after the address. Make sure there are no spaces anywhere in the address including the IMG’s!
9. If you do it in word first highlight it and copy it and post it on the forum.
10. Your final product will look like this!

Re: Posting pictures

If you have the picture in your computer as a file, it's even easier.
Look below the box where you type in your comments. There is a button labelled "image". Cick on it, then enter the location of the file in you r computer, such as "C:\My Documents\bigfish.jpg" make sure you put the jpg or gif or bmp on the end. Then post it.

Re: Posting pictures

Sorry coupedeville, I think you'll need it on a server. If you have your computer set up as a FTP site, it would work, but the picture would only be available if the computer is left on.

Re: Posting pictures

Do you see a picture of a Chris Craft Constellation in my above posting? If you do, then I'm correct.

Well, that's q-u-e-e-r. I see it in my posting, and I also see it in Bears posting back to me!
Somebody else try posting one like I said to. Doesn't matter what it is, I just want to see if it comes out.

Re: Posting pictures

Red X... Pics have to be supported on a web site.. Coupe, I wish your method would work, but that make it too easy... :)

Re: Posting pictures

Nuts. It would seem to be logical to be able to just paste them in here, like you would for an e-mail. But when has logic influenced too many things?

Re: Posting pictures

Well here it is, right from the horse's mouth:
Attaching Files
For security reasons, you may not attach files to any posts. You may cut and paste text into your post, however, or use HTML and/or UBB Code (if enabled) to provide hyperlinks to outside documents.
If at first you don't succeed, try reading the instructions!!

Re: Posting pictures

coupedeville,
The reason you can see the picture is that this link, file:///D:/Boating/36connie.gif, is pointing through the path in your computer where the picture is.
When everyone else opens this post the browser/program (or whatever) do the same but can't find Boating/36connie.gif. in their computers.
I can understand that you where sure. Especially if you preveiwed your post before sending it.
As I put the same link in my post as a "proof" I forgot that you would be able to see it again. Not much of a joke then I guess. Sorry. "No, it works just fine." was kind of funny at the moment.
:)

Re: Posting pictures

Bloody computers.
Anyway, yes you need to save the file to a web page, or site.
I set up one on a site called Picturetrail. It's free, believe it or not, and then you just post the address and people can check out the page.

Try it. http://www.picturetrail.com/coupedeville

Re: Posting pictures

Well that didn't work the way I thought it would.
Ah, screw it. I've spent too much time on this anyway. I'm outta here. :(
