I love that woof2 photo.. I would love to see that in action. I don't think I would get onto SBNs boat, that motor looks scary big.

I maxed out my 2005 glastron SX 170 with a 2005 150 Merc XR6. Love the boat and i cant say enough about the engine and its overall performance, classic carb v-6 smell and sound, and reliability. 55 mph on gps with an incredible hole-shot.

Re: post pics of your mercs

This is my new to me 1988 115 fresh water merc. I just recently purchased this motor for a whopping $300.00. Wife thinks I paid too much, told her $200. The only thing I?ve had a chance to do to it is clean it and conduct a compression test. Cold motor put all 6 @ 120 psi. Spark plugs looked great, power trim works and have recently received control box and new impellor. This motor has been asleep for over six years. I?m looking forward to getting her ready and replacing my 1973 850 merc, which runs great by the way, just want some more power. The 115 came with a 15 x 11p prop, must have came off something big.

SCREAMIN DEAL at $1000!. Power Trim worth $300+ alone. But something wrong with prop pitch. You should be more like 13x19 or better.

Yes, I have no need for an 11 pitch prop. I have a SS ballistic 13 3/8 x 19p, and a 13 X 21p to try out. I may even have to go higher as I'm putting it on a 850 lbs, trihull and hope to be TriHaulin before too long. All the wiring looks great, I'll be going thru the carbs soon.

I remember all to well at about 10 years old (1960), the dude with the Hydro and 20h. (still can picture it, and the sound!)

Nothing like a Cornpopper conversion 20H Merc to send chills down your spine. Never forget the first time heading into the first turn with 11 other 'Poppers wailing away in a curtain of spray, bouncing boats and spinning props. I get goose bumps just thinking about it....

Here are a couple more old Mercs for you...

You got yourself a bargain! You should be stoked! It looks very clean. It would be worth a lot more that.. More like a 1000 :)
