Possible trim line snowballing nightmare?

Mercruiser Gen 2.
I believe I need to redo the seals on the cylinders. The nuts are frozen. If I strip the threads on the cylinders or lines then I need to change the braided lines. The braided lines all connect to a plate under the transom assembly. If those strip I need to change that plate. I have a spare transom assembly with lines attached. It appears that plate has the lines that run to the pump and it is all one piece. The only way to gain access to snake new lines is to pull the motor. Is this correct? YES I'M WAY OVER THINKING WORST CASE SCENARIO. It's boating season and I don't want to get into a snowballing nightmare till fall. Is there any truth to what I'm saying? Also can I add a small amount of heat to the trim cylinders to help get the bolts out without damaging anything on the inside.

The block under the gimbal housing is held on with 2 stainless nuts. Sometimes the gasket survives. Pry it down and then you can get to the 2 hoses.
What model do you have? Do both the hoses attach to the front of the ram?

One in the front one in the rear # 815954-1

use a small torch and apply to hose fittings. Be careful. Then loosen. Use old hose to fiche new hose, if needed. You may use a strong string as well. You may need to use heat to disassemble rams. I made a spanner wrench because new one was too much money. I still needed heat. A rebuild kit should supply new seals.

From what you posted it appears to be aa alpha series. You do not have to remove the engine to replace the hoses.
I re sealed the rams on my last boat without removing them. I just removed the rear cross pin then unscrewed the caps and pulled out the rams.
Just be sure to use a flare nut wrench if you have to remove any hoses.
