The fuel gage on my Merc 6.6gal fuel tank is very inaccurate. I have the tank full and it registers one quarter full...Is this a common problem or typical of portables and can it be corrected?
The float, if it is cork, may be degraded to the point that it is not floating on the surface. The linkage may be binding as well. Disassembly should answer the question. Good luck...
