portable fish finder? suction cup transducer??

hello again.

Im looking at getting a portable fish finder, the transducer sticks on with a heavy duty suction cup and just a wire up the back of the boat up top to the fish finder,,,

anyone use a set up like this?? does it work allright?

Yep, works fine, dad still uses one on his little boat, Mine is on the garage shelf and gets used 1 or 2 times a year when I take the 12'r up the creek to "hidden lake".

Good idea to put a safety cord on the transducer, to keep it from getting into the prop if the suction cup lets go.

I have one of these and the suction cup broke. Now I'm trying to find a way to mount it up to the transom. Can one of you take a picture of how it looks with the suction cup as I wasn't the one that used it previously. I just want to have some idea of what I'm trying to achieve in mounting this thing. Do you think it's possible to order just the suction cup part from humminbird?
