Hello iBoats Forum,
I come to the esteemed forum for, yet more, most wise advice.
Vessel Info:
1990 Wellcraft Gran Sport
Twin 5.7L Inboard w/Thunderbolt Ignitions
Port Engine: OC 624933
Star Engine: OC 624786
Problem:
I started the starboard engine, no problem what-so-ever.
I tried to start the port engine, cannot crank engine (but "on" position on ignition switch provides power to vessel, etc).
Turned "on" port engine ignition and used a screwdriver to engaged the starter (at the starter contacts).
Engine started and ran just fine, no problems there.
I removed the starboard ignition switch and determined that I have live power on the two connections applicable, all is working fine.
I removed the port ignitiion and determined that the "on" terminal has live power but the "start" terminal does not.
I had previously been working behind the instrument panel (where there are many wires!) replacing a bulb also ran some wires from the helm into the engine area for some docking lights and suspect I may have tripped a circuit breaker or fuse connected to the ignition start terminal thereby killing power to that terminal (?).
I checked all visible fuses - nothing amiss that I could find.
In reviewing the wiring diagram, I see a circuit breaker associated with the ignition system that "may" be the culprit (??).
Any recommendations are welcome and particularly, if someone knows where the circuit breaker I need to check can be found, I would be most grateful for the information.
Until I resolve this issue, I beleive I can use a jumper to provide 12 V power to the "start" terminal on the affected engine ignition switch or, if that won't work, I can use a temporary "start" switch hooked directly to the starter. This is not what I would prefer and hope to fix the issue with advice from the forum.
This sort of thing keeps me awake at night!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciate and in particular, where one might find the circuit breaker indicated in the wiring diagram (please see attached wiring diagram indicating a circuit braker above the letter "B" in the circle).
Thank you in advance and, as always, I appreciate the assistance provided here.
VB
