popping sound in stereo

I installed a new stereo in a boat. Everything works fine except that when using the trim, when I reach the upper or lower limit, I get a popping sound in the speakers. Is there a way to eliminate this

You might have a bad ground somewhere. Check the stereo ground first. Are your speaker wires insulated from all other wires?
