I’ve searched and searched. Honestly. But I cant find a simple diagram showing the wiring for navigation lights that include separate port and starboard lights, stern light, switch, fuse panel and battery. I know the wiring of the switch itself will be some what dependent on the type of switch, but the rest is what I’m trying to figure out. Any help completing the connections on the diagram below outdoor be great!

Did you look at the generic wiring diagrams in the electrical forum stickies?

Cute drawering

Is there a diode in place with an 8 pole switch?
Real purty, and simple….as you might guess, I did it myself….should have asked an 8 year old to draw it, lol!
I’ll have to check the switch in the morning. I’ll include a picture if I can.

Run power from switch to starboard light, and splice on a 10’ wire from the pos wire and connect it to the port light.

Provide a neg ground wire from each light, back to you neg ground buss bar.

Thanks for the reference. That is close, but missing the fuse panel. I’m assuming the +12v goes to the fuse panel and the negative lines also go to the fuse panel. Also, since the bow lights on the pontoon is actually 2 separate lights im not entirely sure if they are wired in parallel or series. I’ve made a drawing based on the one you provided above and roscoe’s input.

Thanks roscore. I’ve updated my drawing. I’ll make a better one if this correct.

Better drawing, but still lacking

The ground connected to the switch is most likely for the switch light (probably red) not the actual navigation/anchor lights

The nav/anc lights will be grounded to a buss located somewhere on board. Look to the helm and bilge areas first to locate said buss

Switch doesn't need ground. Lights do. Two lights or 10 lights are wired in parallel

Ayuh,....Unless yer fuse box has a separate buss bar, No,....

Grounds are separate circuits, so there oughta be a buss bar near the fuse box,...
Ditto switches, unless the switch has an indicator light in it,....
