Polyester Resin versus Epoxy for Stingers?

Is it OK to seal a wood stringer with polyester resin if my intent is to come back later and use lightweight woven roving (and epoxy resin) to go over the stinger and tie in to the hull? My understanding is that epoxy resin will adhere to cured polyester resin but not the other way around.

Thank in advance.

Hello Fall..

Yes it is OK for you to seal with poly and lam with Epoxy.

You have to Scuff/Prep the wood BEFORE you lam though.. so keep that in mind.

Oh..and I would use 1708 instead of the light woven ..
