The banks over here are stopping giving away piggy banks to children who open a bank account in case.............wait for it................it may offend muslims!! when will this madness stop ,I am sure many muslims are ashamed of this pc rubbish

My neighbor is a muslim, Ali is probably the best neighbor i've ever had, he does a lot for the subdivision in which we both live. About a month ago his four year old daughter was showing off her piggy bank at their backyard barbeque gathering, present were some of his friends who are also muslims, they did not appear to be offended in any way by the piggy bank.<br />I think some people are a bit overly zealous in their attempt to be pc, they miss the big picture altogether, perhaps they need to get out more often.

Yup, Pork. Amazing. Does anybody stop and think about the logical progression of this stuff? All clothes the same between all cultures, all architecture the same etc. etc. Many will say "no way that's ridiculous", but what other conclusions can be drawn? I have to assume that IF there was anybody that was truly offended by a Piggy Bank they would be horrified by the sight of bacon in their hotel breakfast buffett. That's just gotta be stopped right now. What if they see a ham in the grocery store? Ultimately, IMHO, this increases racial stereotyping and suspicion.<br /><br />Come on, somebody needs to think this stuff through. What's the name of the bank? They need to see a little increase in there inbox volume . . .

what a second, dj. social engineering is the work of liberals? then what has the current administration (religious right) been doing for the past several years? the fcc has set back radio and tv programming while they decide what is moral and right. personal freedoms are disappearing at a feverish pace. how is that not social engineering?

The irony in all of this is that origionally, the 'piggy' bank was named for the type of mud that was used to cast it.<br /><br />I've got it, we'll go with a cow bank, oops, that will offend the Hindu's. Maybe a Santa bank..oops the religious thing again(ever heard of St. Nicholas?).

dj, i have to disagree. those views are being forced down my throat by government regulation. we all see a glipse of a partially covered boob during the super bowl, and the govt freaks. the fcc has decided to tell the mainstream media and the majority of the population what is moral and right. we now play by their beliefs, their rules. it blows me away that the same person that finds talking about poop offensive and should be removed from all media, can turn around and fight for the right to own a semi-automatic weapon. take the guns, i'd rather be able to listen and watch what i want. what does more harm?

ken, i don't see how your comments argue against what i've said. the fcc regulates the majority of the media we receive. cable may be popular, but the network channels and raido are still king. sure, i can pay for cable and sat radio and stop complaining, which i do. but i don't have to like it.<br /><br />and guess what? the fcc has recently talked about some form of regulation for cable and sat raido. it will be fought, but who knows what the outcome will be.

FCC can regulate what is free to all because it is no different that someone doing the same actions in the town square. Do you want to see nudity/porn in action in the town square?
