PLZ HEL ME ANONE Evinrude Outboard STARTING ISSUE

hi yes i jus boat a 1990 bayliiner capri baot and it has a Evinrude Outboard 85

so when i put the key in and turn it id does not do anything butt when i move the bar well power bar it does start to turn i did not move it very far up just a few inches!!! how do i start this motor??? i am new i have looked for manuls as well becasue i do not even nkno what the mix is plz anyone help me

not sure , but if it is a mixed gas special pull the choke out. If not, welcome to the complaint club. There should be a little pull knob on the front of the engine if it is a mixed gas special. That is why I got rid of mine. I got tired of pulling the choke out and then pushing it back in after it started and ran.

get the manual and have a nice long read.
Get familiar with the requirements of outboards, they're not like a used car where you just turn the key and go, you need to check everything before getting it wet, change lower gear oil, use new screw seals on the drain plugs.

if you do it all wrong, and thats not hard to do if you don't know anything, the engine can blow.

read the faq files at the top of this section, top secret file.
