plywood floorboard repair avon

[/IMG]hey all,
the front permanent plywood floorboard on my avon has a crack down the center, i was going to glue and screw a piece of plywood or aluminum to reinforce it, any idea's on material or glue to use?
and is this a common problem?

Better if being one piece, not a double one, seems you have already the new piece, cut same size as original, finish with coats of paint or warnish. Sibs with wooden floors need to be maintained/repaired after some year use, are not eternal. It would not hurt to re coat all wooden floorboards with generous amounts of paint/warnish on both sides, to protect them better from environment.

thanks for that sea rider, do you have a prefferance for material used for repair? stainless, aluminum, plywood and glue?

Sometimes need to replace new front wooden bow panel, are 12mm plywood made at a carpentry, are sanded and coated with epoxic or polyurethane paint on both sides. Alum floor panels sibs still have 1 or 2 front bow wooden panels, depends on the bow model, need to be changed accordingly to the careless affect they have received No good to repair old wooden panels as they won't last as expected.

i think this may be a pretty good fix, 1/8" diamond plate screwed over polyeuthrane adhesive, and water proofed, at least that was the suggested fix by the life raft repair expert who does this stuff, and he is also california coast guard approved. will update this post after a good pounding running back from the fishing grounds south east of here.
