please help

i have a 125 hp force engine outboard (1989 or88) when i start it in my driveway water does not shoot out the pee hole when it is in neutral at idle. i shut it off immediatly so as not to hurt the engine. what could be the cause of this.

Do you have it submerged in a tank or are you using muffs?

Muffs are hard to use on a Force 125 as they don't fit snuggly around the intakes.

Get a water tank large enough to fully submerge the lower unit and try again.

Let us know what happens.

If you don't have a tank:use duct tape on a DRY lower unit.Tape it up good!!!
Then turn the water on.It will take a few seconds to pump water.
How old is the impeller? Jerry
