Unfortunately I was forced to by a boat with Johnson outboard (that was the only way to get my money), but there is no any plate with motor details. Only detail I have is a license where I a motor serial number. #043201-. Motor is totally broken and I need a model number to order spare parts. Can anybody search some database for model number from this serial I provide. I was searching the net for last one week without result.
Aleksandar,

Re: Please Help

I don't think that serial number will help. A picture might help.

Re: Please Help

Johnson serial number 43201 would be from 1926.

Re: Please Help

It may be old and it may be collectible. Look around the motor for one of these model numbers: J-25; JC-25; A-25; AB-25; AC-25; ABC-25; P-30; PB-30; PBF-30; PF-30.

Re: Please Help

you can up load to a free service like photobucket.com then you choose the pictures you want( clik the little box at the bottom left of the picture) scrool to the bottom of the page, clik generate html, it will take you to the next page, scroll down to thumb nails clik on that and copy, then insert it into your post.

also if you are planing on posting pictures, you can use the Blue post reply or the go advanced, manage attachments, there you can upload , directly from your computer. besure you pictures have been resized to fit the format. 640x480 max.

Re: Please Help

to be honest it could be any 2 cylinder motor for the mid 70's to the mid 80's. it is missing most of the parts. carbs, cylinder head, cool cover, intake manifold. you don't have much there. surely looks like someone used it as a parts motor, robbing it to repair another motor.

Re: Please Help

Guy who sell it to me said that it could be a Johnson 1977 55HP. And what do you think how much can cost a complete repair?

Re: Please Help

The number on your welch plug is preceded by RPH which means "Replacement Power Head". That will not help you because it is not a serial number. The skeg goes straight down, so the motor is from the 1970's if the gearcase is original to the motor.

The number plate with the model and serial number is in place in your photograph. See the thumbnail below.

Re: Please Help

it is a 1977 Johnson, i only started to price parts that are missing, and got to $600, and that's not all. the carb is not available, you will have to find used ones. personally, i think you should just take a loss on this one. and sell the parts you have. will the flywheel even turn?

Re: Please Help

My mistake, I didn't post pictures with other parts. There are all parts, but only broken thing is a piston and cylinder.
