New to boating- When we put the boat in drive we are nose up in the air and I don't know why, please help.
the drive is up while towing.
Yes but is it down ALL the way when in the water.
The bow will allways rise when comming up from ilde. It should plane out after a few seconds to a minute depending on your load.
Trim the drive ALL the way down before moving the throttle from idle. Have any occupants in the boat move toward the bow to take the weight off the stern. Push the throttle all the way foward rather quickly (not speed racer fast but quick). As the boat hits plane ease off to a comfortable speed and reposition your guests. Then trim up accordingly to reduce the drag on your boat.
Good luck
Do you understand the concept of a boat being "on plane" it is quite normal for the bow(nose) to go up when taking off. After you get to a certain speed the nose will drop and this is what being "on plane" means.
Also, how fast or slow you get on plane can depend on how you manage your trim.
We have tried that but it stays up the entire time no matter what. We have been told we can put like a fin of some sort above the propeller to stop this, is there any truth to that? If so do you know what that is called?
thank you for the info.....
