Please help with ignition wiring

I have a 1979 140 hp Mercury motor on my pontoon. I need to know the wiring diagram to hook it up. Not sure where all the wires connect. I have took it to several marine mechanics that cannot fix it. Can anyone help?

i dont know if this will help but look at this wiring diagram. take a look at maxrules.com. it has alot of good info on wiring ,trouble shooting,etc..good luck

Please be a bit more specific. Are you trying to restore the old motor wiring harness? Are you trying to install a new wiring harness. Are you asking about the boat harness? Does the motor have a distributor?
