!!please Help This Motor Illiterate Wife"!!

My husband is working on a Mercury Outboard and he told me to find the wiring diagram and ignition diagram? schematic? for a 95-96 80HP 2 stroke 3 cylinder oil injecton motor. Sound simple right?! Not for this desperate and totally motor illiterate. I have a manual and when I go to the wiring diagrams not one of them say oil injection, and hubby said its supposed to and it's very important. The manual has a whole section on oil injection, advanced oil injection and 80HP oil injection but no wiring diagrams in that section. On one page of the wiring section it sais
"Wire identification for 3-cylinder powerheads, Models 70, 75, 80, 90HP since 1987"
That sounds right except no mention of oil injection.
And on the previous page it sais
"Wire Identification - Type V ignition system - Thunderbolt flywheel CD pointless - coil per cylinder - 3 cylinder - electric start."
OKKKK. How do I know what type ignition system it is? What is CD pointless? COIL PER CYLINDER!!?? and electric start? I'm pretty sure it is cuz manual start would meant you were pulling on a rope right?
I need help or pointed in the right direction desperately. He's on the job and waiting for me to send him the info. I'd buy a book but I already have one that might have the info I need and how do I tell which book to get and if it has the info?

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME! My husband told me to look up the wiring diagram for a 95-96 80 HP 2 stroke 3 cylinder oil injection outboard motor and send it to him at the marina.
I know NOTHING about motors. I have a book that sais it covers all 40-115HP, 3 and 4-cylinder, 2 stroke motors.

But when I go to the wire identification pages I cant find one that sais "oil injection", and he said it is supposed to on the right one and that it is very important. The book does have a whole section on oil injection, advanced oil injection and 80HP motors though.

In the wiring diagram section on page sais
"Wire identification - Type V ignition system - Thunderbolt CD pointless - coil per cylinder - 3 cylinder - electric start."
That sounds good, and it looks complicated. But it doesn't mention oil injection and I have no idea what the rest of it means. What type ignition system? CD pointless? COIL PER CYLINDER? I'm pretty sure its an electric start cuz if it wasn't you'd be pulling a rope right? And he's not.

On the very next page it sais

That sounds right too. But the diagram looks completely different too me, (less complicated) and still no mention of oil injection.
Am I suppossed to have both or neither?

I really appreciate any help or direction I can get. I'd buy a book but I'm not sure which book to buy and if it has the info I want. Cuz I already have one book that sais it shoud have it and I cant find it!!

All of the mercs in that era are oil injected. If the wiring schematic does not show the relevant circuit - either you have the wrong manual or it is printed incorrectly.

There is so much information in those wiring schematics that it can be easy to miss circuits, are you sure you have looked at it in detail?

Posting the same thing three times is not necessary. We are not paid to sit on line waiting for questions. Patience -- someone will be along. As for the ignition switch, here is the detail (letters on the switch).

B = Battery + = +12 volts to the switch through the engine harness.
C = Choke = +12 volts to the choke solenoid when the key is pushed in
M = Magneto = two of these terminals are shorted together in the off positiion to kill the engine. One goes to the magneto the other to ground.
A = Accessory = +12 volts to accessories (gauges, etc) when the key is on.
S = Solenoid = +12 volts to the starter solenoid when the key is turned to start.

Merc didn't have an 80 hp 3 cylinder in 95 or 96.

Can you post the engines serial number?
