Please Help.... Power tilt and trim problems

Hey folks.... I'm new to iBoats and also boat repairs.

I have a 79 150hp O/B Merc and having problems with the tilt and trim... When I first got the boat, it would move up and down but it was very slow and now it doesn't move at all. I can hear the motor running but it will not raise up or down... What do I need to do first to figure out the problem? Any help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Check the oil level in the t n t. Make sure the override screw is screwed all the way in. If it is screwed out the hydrolics will just bypass. I hear some of these for what ever reason get broken off. I found no reason to ever use mine on my xr4 but never had any problem. If this don't help I'd say you have pump problems or air in the lines...........Jerry

You have the PTT with the two external trim cylinders and the pump mounted in the boat, right? These units are not self-bleeding. If you can move the motor up or down by hand, they need to be bled.
