I have a 16' open Lund skiff with a 40hp tiller, no power other than stand-alone battery.

I'm not sure what kind of bilge pump to install or how to do it.

If I install a standard bilge pump, how should it be secured to the hull? I don't want a through-hull bolt! I was thinking maybe adhesive but if I have to replace the bilge pumped that will be a major problem.

My other thought is mounting a Whale Gusher manual bilge pump, but again tough to mount solidly where it can be reached by me or a passenger when needed.

Thoughts?

Mine is screwed onto a 'kneebrace' inside the transom. [drilled holes, yes, but not thru the hull.]

Here you go. This was posted by another iboats member, sorry, can't remember who.

The photo on the right shows the transom area, looking dow into the bilge area.

The photo on the left, shows the small bracket that holds the bilge pump.

This also holds the pups up off the hull, so it doesn't suck up and sand or dirt.
