PLEASE HELP 1977 35 evinrude

i have a 1977 35 hp evinrude that lost spark so first i replaced coils didnt help then power pack yes hot blue spark still wont start even with squirting fuel in the carb
my key swich broke will turn over and used to start oh yea i just rebuilt carb and ran great for to months before she died
can i still get spark but not start because of the key

If you are getting "hot, blue, spark", then your ignition key/switch is working. Why it won't fire even though you are spraying fuel in the carb, is another issue. How are you doing your spark test? Holding a plug against the block isn't a good spark test and can be deceiving.

How did it die? Was it runnin & just quit, or did it just not start the next time you went to crank it? You might check to see if the kill switch wiring has gotten pinched or melted. I'm with Oldcat. If you have spark, then there's another issue. Is the fuel tank clean? Could you have sucked up some trash? Even if that was the case, it should fire for a second or two, unless some kind of thick gum has totally clogged everything (unlikely).

thank you for all of your help ha to take it to a shop it was a blown headgasket it only cost alittle over a hundred bucks to fix and check every thing over time to run down some big bull reds
