My number 2 plug no spark could this be a coil problem or something else plugs where replaced 2 weeks ago and motor has not been run in five years any ideas
Re: please help 1976 evinrude 35hp won't start #2 plug has no spark
Swap coil top to bottom and see if the problem follows. Crazy Low Tension Ignition system in that one. Two Points and Condensers, one exciter coil under the flywheel. Might have a problem with one set of points not opening.

Trim 1/4 inch off each end of the spark plug wire,Have you taken the flywheel off to check the points? Make sure the points are set to .20 on the set spot on the timing cam.You may even use a points file on the points to clean them up.
