Hello, I am new here to the forum. I have been reading the Plasti dip comments. I am a Installer of plasti dip, we do trucks, cars, ATV ,snowmobiles! My question is I have my own project now. I have a 18ft Thompson 8 person boat ( I'm not a Current Boater) Still learning... lol but my subfloor is rotten and I'm currently removeing all from the boat we are now at the sub floor (rotten). I will be plasti dipping the outside part way down the sides and I thought to do the floor board instead of Carpet. Has anyone done the floor boards yet and how is it holding up? Like I said this is first boat and it is fiber glass but floor was wood, so i will replace it but wanted to plasti dip it. Please let me know on your thoughts! Thanks

MOD EDIT - Welcome,Big. Gonna move this to a new thread so you get some answers. This one is old and has petered out.

Welcome to iBoats! IMHO I'd think it would be WAY to slick and slippery for use on the floor/deck. From what I know about the product it dries to a high gloss slippery surface and that's NOT what you want on a boat deck.

How does the plastidip chemical formula differ form bed-liner spray., or do you know? Some have used bed-liner inside their boats. I honestly don't know if that is a good idea or not. I haven't read the results from any of them myself. I will say that everybody, self included, is still looking for the simplest and easiest product to apply and never ever have to worry about it ever again. But that process has not been found yet to my knowledge. Everything take a lot of work...

I can't answer any of your questions but I'd love to see some of your work and how it's done. Saw a new Camaro online that had plasti dip rims and it looked high end. Got any pics?
