I have two 175 ocean pros year 2000. I do not have the serial numbers on me at the moment.
Problem I have is the bit of plastic on the engine side where the throttle cable is attached and the side the engine. This plastic part keeps breaking, every two weeks this part breaks. any ideas what is causing this part to keep snapping? on the control box when i put it in gear and to get it to go full speed takes some force to move the throttles all the way down, dont know if this has anything to do with the plastic bit on the engine?
thanks for the help
Andrew

In this case a picture would be worth a 1000 words.
The only reaseon I can imagine anything on the linkage connection breaking time and again is the cable is adjusted wrong and really putting a strain on the parts when at full throttle. Sorta like your last sentence describes. Disconnect the throttle cable at the engine. Put the engine and the control box in neutral by hand. Then adjust the trunion on the end of the cable to fit back in its socket on the motor
