plastic in cylinder chamber

i was pulling the head off my 25 hp evinrude and found what looked like to be plastic setting on the top of the piston

I know a guy that 'lost' the spray tube when spraying fogging oil into a carb, it made a blackened red melted blob in the exhaust port once the motor was finished with it!
