piston pings the spark plug

Hi all i new here. I hope someone can help me out i have a 89 force 50. My questoin is the piston pings the lower spark plug why does this do that it ran fine the one day they the next day it started to ping the plug is the timing out of time or is it something inside the engine lose makeing the piston to go higher.if some one can please help me out.....

Lets hope something is going on with the plug.
What plugs are you using?
Ping? Do you mean it is hitting the plug?Is it really mashing it or just touching it?

Not good. If it didn't "Ping" the plug one day and the next it did, you have something letting go. Most likely, either the wrist pin or rod bearing.

yeah it mashing it in. And the plugs are the same ones i always used. Is there any way i could get a shorter plug and use that till it goes or is the best thing is to just get it rebilt. Well duck comes in in 2 week and i use the boat to hunt out of

Is it even possible for the wrist pin to let loose? If it would start sliding out it would hit the cylinder walls first I would think, now the connecting rod at the crankshaft I guess would be possible. But maybe the piston got hot and melted something which has stuck to the crown of the piston and is now hitting the plug. pull the head off and look at the top of the piston in question.

Yeah its needs rebilt the piston is all melted and so is the head do i need a new head or when i take it to get board can they clean the head up.I have a 88 power head could i use the head off of that are 88 and 89 the same well thanks every body for all your help this place is great thanks all

Can't say if the 88 will work my guess would be yes.
compare them with special; attention to water passages
and maybe check to see if gaskets are the same.
Better try to figure out why it failed before you run it much.My guess would be timing,wrong heat range on the plug, maybe lugging the motor.
