This is my 1983 Winner Z880 17' Bass Boat with 1984 Mercury V6 outboard. Solid boat just needs some TLC. Top speed is 60-65 mph.

That boat has some nice lines! Seems to me the Winners were well-made boats; too bad there is not more information out there about them.

Re: Pics of 1983 Winner Z880 Bass Boat

I have to agree with you studlymandingo. The lines of this boat are what drew me to buying it. When these pics were taken I had taken it off the trailor to fix the bunks on the trailor. That is done. Then I have found that the bunks have came loose at some point before I got the boat and the hull has deep gouges in it That is also fixed now. I have sanded and buffed the whole hull so it looks alot better now than in these pics. I have also removed the old trolling motor, Filled all the holes where it looks like atleast three have been mounted before over the years and put a piece of dimond plate aluminum over that part and mounted a new trolling motor. I am now working on the floor where I found two soft spots . Not a compleat floor rebuild just fixing the two soft spots. So a simple bunk replacement has turned in to a restoration. I will try and post some up to date pics soon. Getting ready to start glassing the floor back together. My only thing is now the boat looks great but the trailor needs some TLC,sand blasting and paint.

Funny how those simple repairs turn into big projects, huh? I love messing around with my boat though, if I didn't I would buy a brand new one and trade it in every few years.

Dont get me wrong studly I love messing with the boat but I have a thing for getting it perfect. If its not, I will keep at it until I do get it right. My attention to detail is very high. My wife gets on me about it all the time. Maybe I wouldnt feel so stressed about it if I didnt have a budget to do all the repairs. Most of the materials I have gotten for free. But its to late to fall short now so I will keep at it. Later guys, Thanks again,

I have the 1983 Z880 w/ the '83 Merc 150. Do you have any trouble getting yours to plane out at lower speeds? Mine prefers to run about 30-35. Anything less and it starts porpoising. I have tried trimming it out, but so far have not found the right combo.
