Pic of fuel tank fittings. Need help identifying the vented fitting.

Doesn't it seem right that the fitting in the image with nothing on it should be the vent? It just has a threaded plug in it right now. The other two are obviously the sending unit and the main fuel line to the engine.

I'm following up on my fumes post. I was trying to confirm that the vent hose was intact and clear (no mud wasps). The hose coming off the hull vent fitting is good, so I wanted to see what it looked like where it was connected to the tank. The only connections I have access to are through the inspection plate in the image. It seems to me that the plain fitting in the image should be the vent, and the hose should be connected to it. But it isn't. I'm wondering if the vent hose was never connected. (there isn't the odor of gas at the exterior hull vent fitting).

The hose is pretty beefy and stiff, so it's not easy to just pull on it and see where it goes. I have stuck my arm in the inspection hatch that you see in the image and can't find the hose. I have no access to any other area of the tank, unless I pull the T-top, console, and deck cover. No way.

So, am I right about this fitting.....that it should be the vent? Or is this for a second engine fuel line?

I guess clicking on the camera in the upper left isn't the way to do it.

Well I may be corrected but if it's an underdeck tank there should be a vent.

Hey, you could have just continued on with the old post but no matter. Since the "upgrade" the uploads don't work so great. If you get a free photopbucket account you can upload there and then just copy the image link and paste in into your post. If you get an error just refresh, it almost always works. There should be three hose fittings to your tank, the large fill hose, the vent hose and the fuel supply to the engine. Hopefully you have access to all three at your tank access cover.

Come to think of it, I don't see where the fill hose attaches to the tank. Not visible. That is probably also where the vent hose goes, next to it. And neither one is accessible. That's crazy. I guess I'll just put up with a few fumes. They aren't heavy, and the boat is an OB. But it's strange that I can put my nose right on the outside vent hull fitting and not smell gas at all.
