This is an unusual question for you guys who used Pettit EasyPoxy OFF WHITE Topside Paint.

Man do I wish I had a color sample chip! Sampling their "Electric Blue" and "Bright Red" at a marina shop, those color charts in the print brochures are waaay off from the actual thing!

You see, I am overhauling a 1966 Batman Batboat reproduction. Back in the 1960s white gelcoat wasn't 100% white. They couldn't make it that way until the 70s. I'm using EasyPoxy to paint my Batboat. I need an Off White that is fairly close but not exact.

Question; Is EasyPoxy's Off White a true off white that photographs as white or is the damn thing yellowish as shown in the below color chart?

I can't find anyone who carries it locally. Would be great to pop a lid off one to look.

This EasyPoxy off white shown below is from the iboats online shop.

Darren- I don't know how long you can wait but I will be going to my boat store on Tuesday. I can ask then if I can pop a can open and put a little on a piece of paper. Then i can take a picture and upload it. I'm pretty sure they will let me do it.

Just go into an automotive paint store and have it matched in whatever quality of paint you want to use.

There is no official color of white, we have thousands of whites matched in our color computers, every company has their own idea of what white is, so matching anything is difficult.

Mick,

If you can take a piece of cardboard, drop a few spots on it, smear it around with you finger, set it in the sun and then mail it to me I will be eternally grateful. And send several bucks to you via Paypal for the trouble.

Check your PM.

I am thinking the same thing. Sears will do it but I worry that mixing two different paints may screw the EasyPoxy up.

Not a big fan of EasyPoxy- it's OK for a bilge or maybe a cheap and quick project, but does not come close to having the hardness or gloss retention of a two part paint period. However, that's not the question you asked so I will go back to my corner!
