Some of you on this board do a really good job of judging people. Hopefully you caught that sarcasm, cuz I really couldnt lay it on much thicker. Seriosly some of you say the stupidest stuff about people. Please allow me to explain:<br /><br />I am into all types of music. I have classical, rock, hard rock, country and yes even rap CD's in my car. I do happen to be into rap. Some it is actually good if you happen to listen to the right stuff, and for five minutes aren't so hasty to judge it. I'm sure you were just trying to be funny, maybe.......I was a little offended. Don't go calling me thin skinned, for I am not.....I'm just calling out your hasty, small minded and most importantly wrong opinion. Yeah you are entitled to it but, I dont have to agree to it.<br /><br /><br />I listen to rap,so I must therefore be stupid then, correct?....I probably can barely spell my name. WRONG! <br /><br />1. I graduated in the top 5% of my class<br />2. Graduated with High Honors and was a member of NHS (National Honors Society)<br />3. Am attending an architecture school that is in the top 15 in the country.<br />4. Am carrying a 3.7 GPA through 6 semesters in college.<br />5. Got a 33 on my ACT<br /><br />Oh and there are some smart rappers too. For example : Busta Rhymes went to Harvard Law school.

Go ahead, call me stupid. It will only further prove my point. Even if you arent referencing scholarly inteligence, its still not acceptable to me to call anyone stupid because they choose to listen to a type of music you dont like.

i too like lots of diffrent kinds of music ,, its just when they open their mouths is when it becomes offensive ,, the tones and beat and the way it all comes together and flowes is great ,,, so shut your mouth and let us enjoy the music,,that goes for pop and cw blues and several others

I don't belive you are a average rapper. If you can tell me as a employer who you would consider first for a employee, someone who looked average or someone with the rap look or for that matter the gothic look or many other out of main stream society looks. Then I will agree with you. I don't believe that I am a prude, but I can tell you that a family resterant that I and my wife ate at alot hired a waitress that had multiple peircings of her face and I finally asked that she not wait on us any more as it was not conducive to injoying dinner, so even though I try to not judge people by how they look I guess we are all guilty of it

deepwater- I agree with you a lot of the words are offensive, however, that GENERALLY is not what i listen to. That is not to say that I don't because I do, and its not to say I agree with all of it wither. Just want to make sure that is clear.<br /><br />Laddies- I agree with you as well.....many expiriences similar to that. that being said, however, rabbit made no distinction about clothes.....only those who listen.<br /><br />I really do wonder how people who dress and act like that get jobs

I think you pushed the envelope to the limit already, 18R.<br /><br />For as long as I have been paying attention, people who get "into" a new style of music play it loud without sensitivity to those who don't like it, and those who don't like it generalize their resentment by saying all sorts of uncomplementary things about the new music fans.<br /><br />Nothing new, but keep it civil.

Have a little respect. these booming base cars that drive around making my heart jump up and down dont do a thing for me. I would love to take a long phillips screwdriver and run it through thier base speakers.I dont personaly care what kind of musick you listen to , but turning the volume up isnt going to convert me.

I have to agree with Heycods... <br /><br />Listen to whatever floats your boat... but when I have to hear it go by my house late at night shaking it off the foundation and having my kids hear every syllable of the music... that's when it's a problem.<br /><br />Kinda the same as cigarette smoke. I don't care if you do it, just don't force me to smell it.<br /><br /><br />H.

Thats not even relevant to my point Booner. First off there are things both of those artists say that I dont agree with, and I cant explain them....................but if you think all rap is like theirs is, then you are sadly mistaken and making a ridiculous assumption.<br /><br /><br />AGAIN some of these assumptions are a little ridiculous. NOT everyone who listens to rap does it with a lot of BASS. I agree that listening to music at that level can be very inappropriate, however I do have the courtesy to turn my radio down when people can hear regardless of what music that may be.

I find it interesting that people judge you by what music you listen to.<br /><br />There is rap that is truly an art form. In fact, Eminem is quite talented. I don't like much of rap but there is some I like.<br /><br />I like country and some people think there is something uncool about it.. Whatever.<br /><br />The stmt by 18R is what is called a generalization and frankly there is some truth to it. But obviously it does not apply to all.

BoatBouy is right. My parents thought the world was ending with the hard rock I listen to.<br /><br />Everyone complaining about the rap should remember a 440 Charger with glass packs booming Zepplin in the 70's <br /><br />I dont appreciate the volume of the music either, but every generation has their own music and their own dress. Its all designed to show that they are independent.<br /><br />If you really want an earful, listen to latin rap. Now that is bizarre.

well said roger, pretty much my point exactly.<br /><br />I agree there is truth in what 18R said, but based on his reply it doesnt appear he thinks there is anything but truth to it, gets under my skin a bit.
