Could be a couple of things, if it’s one of the 290dp variants and depending on what trim pump you have. I had a 1989 with the same issue. Was the ball valves in the pump not holding pressure. Could also be the rams passing and your issue with popping up in reverse is likely perhaps to do with the known issue (over time and if it’s a 290) around the reverse catch wearing and not engaging as it should. Just a few possibilities for you.
