Parts for 1967 18hp Evinrude

I have a 1967 18hp Evinrude fastwin model 18702R that I want to buy parts for. In particular, water pump parts and the seals, gaskets and O-rings for the gear case, breaker points and condensors. Unfortunately all of the parts list on the online stores only go back to 1968. I believe the parts listed for the 1968 18hp Evinrude are the same parts as used in the 1967, but I am not sure and I do not want to do any damage by installing parts that are not intended for this motor. I'm sure if I could get a hold of an old timer in the parts department he would be able to set me straight...Any opinions or suggestions?

IMO the parts for the "67and '68 are the same.

Should be all the same as far as I can tell.

Sorry , but there is one site that lists part back to 1955. But you are correct in that the 67 parts are the same as 68 model.

If you go here http://www.sierramarine.com/pdfcatalog/2014sierra/2014searchmain.html they have the listings for your outboard. This site sells Sierra parts so you can type their numbers into the parts search box and it will take you to the corresponding part.

Changes to the 1968 18 include:

1. a revised smaller fuel pump that helps with vapor lock

2. A more streamlined gear-case with the elimination of the forward protruding "nub" in the "bullet"

Otherwise the 68s are completely the same as the 67s mechanically.
