Here's my problem, 91 Mariner 100hp runs great at idle and low speed, but when I try to acclerate it gets halfway up but wont get on step! But using the warm up lever, it'll run up to 5K + no problem, but still wont get on step! I tried excersing the throttle with the engine off, restart and still the same thing! As a last ditch effory, reached back and added some choke, the thing jumped outta the water and ran great! The other day took it to a local lake, same thing, at about 1/2 throttle, had to add choke to get it on step, and had to keep the choke on to get it to stay there!!
I've been told my high speed jets are prob clogged (it set in storage for years) and I may need to totally rebuild the carbs! Now, I've never done that, but I do work on planes for the Air Force! My question is how hard is it to rebuild the carbs (4) and what is the part numbers I need to order to get everything I need to do the job???
My motor is a 1991 Mariner 100hp 4 cylinder, serial number 0D076464 and is there any special tools I'll need, I've got a shop full! I've also down load a service manual! Or, is this a job I should leave to the pros, if so, what kinda money we talking about to have them rebuilt???
Thanks Rob
