for years there have been floating key chains that pop open and you can put your reg. inside... waterproof and you can't go (motor) boating without the keys.

I've used these types forever. Usually get 1-3 free every time we purchased a new boat. Lake House has been in the family for 4 generations so many boats have been purchased. registration.jpg

That is a practical solution. Registration attached to the key chain. Will that item float with the key on it?

I use a sandwich bag in my main tackle box.

Absolutely. That is what they're designed for. Sold many, many places (including iboats). Just do a search for "key float"

Get the a piece of schedule 40 PVC pipe the size you need, glue a cap on one end and a fitting on the other end you can screw a plug into. It makes a container that is waterproof, floats, and is practically indestructible. I guess it could burn but that would be your minor problem in the event of a fire.
