Auto Club Speedway is hosting their 33rd NASCAR Cup Series race. The speedway is located in Fontana, California and hosted 2 races per season from 2004-2010. The 2-mile tri-oval has an asphalt racing surface with 14 degrees of banking in each turn, 11 degrees on the front and 3 degrees on the backstretch. The track first opened in 1997, the Cup Series held its inaugural race and the hometown favorite Jeff Gordon won. Hendrick Motor Sports is the team with the most wins (11). Jimmie Johnson has won here 6 times.
Sunday will be the last race held on the 2 mile track. Pending approval, NASCAR will next race here on a short 1/2 mile track, but that probably won't be ready until the 2025 season at the earliest.
Sunday's race starts at 3:30pm Eastern and features 200 laps around the 2 mile track (400 mi).
