I have two questions. First when plugging a hole in the boat I read about using eppozy. What else do you need a wood plug or just some matting? I read here some where about painting the boat with rust-olem. This boat will be used on week-end and not left in the water. Rust-olem also make a color that matches what is on it.

Re: Painting

There is a 2-part epoxy called Marine Tex. Very good for filling small holes, smaller than your finger. Larger than that and you need to dish it out with a grinder and patch it with some cloth/roving and fiberglass epoxy. Rustoleum is a tough, durable paint and fits the budget too. But you may have to wait until the sun comes back out. Snowing here in Tejas.

Re: Painting

Thank you. The hole or holes that I need to patch is about 1 1/2" or so. The others are 1/2" or so. These holes are from the bolts that use to go through 2 x 4's that supported the transom. <br />The person that had the boat added a live well. He drilled through the transom, which is what I am repairing now. I do not want the pump or the out put holes anymore. What is roving?
