So I'm going to be painting a new 30' plywood epoxy sailboat and I am thinking of using a two part urethane paint made by Blue Water marine. Does any one have any advice? how much I should thine it, what size needle to use in my HVLP,etc...
Blue Water Marine Paint 976 Epoxy and Urethane Reducer is the thinner of choice with two-part Blue Water Marine Paint systems.
I'd start with 10 to 15% thinning per volume to start and adjust from there based on how the paint is flowing from the gun. I would think that a 1.4mm tip should work well with this paint.
Glad to hear that a 1.4 tip should work because that's what I just bought. I don't know what I am doing for primer yet. I have heard that because my boat is Epoxy I don't have to prime but I'm not sure if that is true. I have been trying to contact Blue Water marine to ask them with out any luck. if I do have to prime Blue water makes a epoxy primer. Will I need to thin it as well?

So is there any thing special about that thinner or is it just Xylene or MEK?
I am also needing to get some compressor water/oil filters but not sure if the cheap ones will work or if I need to spend a 150 dollars, which I don't really want to do. but I also don't wan't any problems.
I am thinking of using "BLUE WATER MARINE PAINT Marine Urethane Topcoat Paint Kits (Commercial/Industrial Only)" from West Marine. Manufacturer Part Number 4001-4GB
along with "BLUE WATER MARINE PAINT Commercial AC70 Primer" Also from west marine.
