I am about ready to paint a 25' Kencraft. The previous owner installed some fiberglass reinforced plastic in places then painted it. The paint peeled away in sheets. It is very difficult to sand because of the irregular surface. Is there a primer that will stick without sanding?
Thanks,
Gene

Not that will have 100% success. I'm not sure what the irregular surface is like, but I normally use a stiff wire brush to roughen areas I can't sand, like nonskid or bilges.

You're gonna definitely have to scuff it up to get anything to stick. You might even have to have some of the paint mixed in a formulation just for plastic. Almost any automotive paint store can do it. They do it all the time for bumper covers on cars. I've used it. Works great.
