I have a 17' fiberglass fish/ski that is ready for primer and paint. Top and bottom. Any sugestions for paint brand or type? I plan on using a brush/sponge to apply.

Re: Paint selection

Interlux is a very good marine paint.
They have a 2 part poly and a 1 part poly, both with their compatible primer.
They have a good choice of colors, available for spray or roll and tip.
You don't really need a bottom coat paint for a freash water, trailered boat. The top side paint will work just fine.

oops, I thnk Imeron is strickly spray only.

Re: Paint selection

You didn't say if it's a trailer boat or not , but there in phoenix the two part poly might prove to be a hand full because working time shortens ALOT in higher temps.

It is a trailer boat. The Interlux is starting to sound like a good choice.

Re: Paint selection

This is a short paint comparison vid i found. nothing special, but it's neat.

Personally I can't recommend a brand. I would go by what the people here are telling you, based on actual experience.

Seems the majority likes interlux, but this vid kinda puts it down. But they all look so pretty :)

Re: Paint selection

I have shot Imron on everything from cars to machine tools. I think it is great. It is plenty tough. Nason, a DuPont subsidiary has a similar product for about half the money. The DuPont dealer here has both and tells me they are the same stuff. I will get the name and post it tomorrow.
