I am apparently getting the overheat alarm. This alarm is sounding whether the motor is running or not. This is confusing the heck out of me because the alarm goes on and off, not a constant shreik. Also, I'm getting a pretty good squirt from the pee hole, I put my hand in it and it was fairly warm, but not hot. Several hours later, I turned the key to on position, and the alarm was a steady beeeeeeeeeeeep. I took the thermostat housing off and ran some water through it for several minutes, which came out of the inlets on the lower unit. Turned the key again and still beeeeeeeeeeeeep. Is there a way to test the sensor? I am stating classic symptoms of a bad impellor? I'm dying because I've only had this boat a few weeks and the new impellor has not arrived yet.

Re: overheat alarm

Alarm should not sound if engine is cold.

Remove the heat sensor from the head.
Check for continuity, should be none.
Immerse in hot water, 180*, switch should close and you should have continuity.
