If they aren't perfect, a machine shop will place on belt sander to flatten. It requires a deft touch. Ballpark $30 a side. They can be milled(if real bad), that runs ~$70 a side. The shop manual will give specifications for how much meat can be removed.
Ebay is a great source of reasonable priced Factory service manuals. If your doing a lot of work, the aftermarket manuals can help for deciphering the litany of OMC "special tools" into common shop items... 3/4" wood dowel vs. special tool for installing loose wrist pin bearings, etc.. They can also give a different perspective, BUT - they can give erroneous info., so the factory manual is a must.
