I just serviced my motor which I winterized last November and started it up. Motor started pretty easy and ran well for several minutes and then temperature alarm sounded.

The water pump was operating and had a strong stream coming from pee hole. Water pump was replaced last summer and has less than 20 hours.

Thermostats were replaced last summer also.

Can anyone tell me where to start looking?

If one or both of the thermostats do not open, the cooling water can't exit the block and you will get an overheat no matter how strong the impeller is. I'd probably run the engine and check it with a laser heat gun. You may have a problem on just one side. I'd consider replacing both the thermostats. Also, make sure the two pinholes in the valve body are not plugged. They need to be open, or you will get an oveheat on the plugged side. While you are in there, check the two nylon pressure relief valves for possible overheat warping/distortion.
