look for a loose wire. thats the #1 cause of most malfunctions.
Components are basic, switch at operators station, pump on inside of transom, related wireing.
Thank you but everything is connected and the pump runs whenever I hit the switch either up or down. The drive was all the way down and after De-winterizing and tuning it up, I raised the drive and now it just won't o back down. I tried pushing down on it it while pushing button. Nothing.
Had the same problem recently. Mine was making a clicking noise that I followed to the solenoid (was kind of hard to hear). Then I fashioned an alligator clip jumper from failed motorcycle battery charger and jumped the red wire to the blue wire and it went down. Hope that helps!
