Hi Chris,
Today I applied the regular yoke to the old style outdrive and mount it into my engine and start the engine. At the beginning it was running good even I put it forward. But after I put it into reverse, the engine stopped to run. Later the situation become worse, it was difficult to start the engine and sometime I saw the smoke at the top of engine with a special explosion voice
I remembered that it was running good without outdrive.
What is the next? Is possible the old style outdrive has some issue. I have checked the gear works for forward and reverse and netrual. Also I am sure there is 6 inches for the shift cable.
at the top of engine, I am only sure that shift cable works. But maybe the lengths of other two also have been changed during taking off and mounting on.
