I put an impeller in my '78 mercruiser 120 today. i ran into some issues. After installing impeller and reassembling lower unit i tried starting the motor. It started right up. But once started the impeller turns in neutral (cw). When put in reverse motor dies. When put in forward the prop turns fine and motor rev's up fine. When put back in neutral the prop continues to spin. Also have a water leak coming from somewhere on the front of the upper unit. Right above where the front joining nut connects the upper and lower units. I am new to working on boats. Any advice is helpful. Thank you.
