Hey I Have A 1989 Omc 255 Sundowner .The Shifting Cable Slips Off The Shifting Gear Inside The Outboard , I Think Its Because The Gears Need Lube Or There Getting Rusted .How Do I Take Every Thing Apart And Lube It Or Clean Or Rebuild It Any Ideas?

The cables go bad a lot. May be the cable. You could disconnect the cable then push and pull on it to see if you can get it to function properly. Try spinning the prop by hand to engage it in forward and reverse. If you can you may be able to adjust it to work right but its probably worn out.
